Does it seem like more Americans than ever are claiming that they have seen a UFO? Perhaps that it because more Americans than ever ARE seeing them.
A poll released last year revealed that one out of every twelve Americans claims to have seen an object that they think may have been a UFO, and nearly one in every five know someone who claims to have seen a UFO.
So what does all that mean?
It means that there are millions upon millions of Americans who say that they have seen a UFO.
Can all of those people be wrong?
Can all of them be delusional?
Or is something else going on?
Here are some of the other findings from that poll.....
-56 percent of American adults believe that it is "very likely" or "somewhat likely" that intelligent life exists on other worlds.
-35 percent of American adults said that the existence of extraterrestrials is unlikely.
-9 percent of American adults were uncertain about the question.
-Men are almost twice as likely to claim to have seen a UFO than women.
-Older Americans are much more likely to claim to have seen a UFO, as are those who live in rural or suburban areas.
-People living in western states are three times more likely to have seen a UFO than residents of other states.
-People who attend church regularly and who identify themselves as born again evangelical Christians are much less likely to have seen a UFO than people with little or no involvement with organized religion.
That fits in very nicely with other research that shows that those who are involved in the occult or with New Age religion are MUCH more likely to have an experience with a UFO.
The reality is that religion plays a huge factor in UFO experiences. This is an aspect of the UFO phenomenon that we will be exploring much more deeply in future posts.
