Hollywood seems to have an utter fascination with the supernatural these days. In fact, the vast majority of big blockbusters now have something to do with UFOs, aliens, the occult or paranormal phenomena. But the new Percy Jackson takes things to an entirely new level. In Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, the hero discovers that his birth was the result of a union between a human and a "god". Rather than being something that is regarded as an abomination, the film treats this as something wonderful that has happened to Percy and something that has given him great powers. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this movie will not realize how real all of this stuff really is. In fact, there was a time in human history when "gods" regularly visited the earth and produced hybrid children with human women.
